A recent report from the USA describes the real and surprisingly high price of foodstuff related illness. At more than one hundred and fifty billion US Dollars per year, the cost is far higher that previously estimated.

These health-related costs take account of doctor services, hospital services, medicines and in addition quality-of-life losses, such as death, pain, suffering and disability.
